Equipment basics, rod, reel, line, accessories, knots, wading and safety equipment Casting practice, mechanics of fly casting, presentation skills, line control, distance, accuracy, special techniques Introduction to fly tying, natural & synthetic materials, aquatic entomology, matching the hatch Trout habitat, water quality, river ecology, history and conservation All fishing equipment is provided, or students may bring their own. All food & fly tying materials are also provided.
