Description
The Junior Statesmen Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) educational corporation which provides administrative and educational support for the Junior State of America. In addition to providing advice and assistance to the student-run program, JSF administers the annual Junior Statesmen Summer School and the Summer Institutes.
Grants from corporations and individuals committed to civic education and leadership training support the Junior Statesmen Foundation. The Foundation is led by a Board of Directors, which includes leaders in business, government, law and education. The directors are assisted by a a Board of Trustees, also comprised of community leaders, who provide advice and guidance.
To use the chapter management feature you need to have a portal account, and you need to be designated as either the Chapter President or the JSA Advisor in our system. If your chapter submitted the Chapter Leadership form with contact information for your president and advisor, we have already created and/or updated accounts for both of you. Contact your Program Director or Program Manager if you find that your account has not been updated.
Californians are accustomed to the idea of entertainers becoming politicians: George Murphy, the song-and-dance man, became a U.S. senator; Arnold Schwarzenegger, an action movie star, became governor; Ronald Reagan, a fixture of 1940s movies and 1950s TV, was governor of the state and president of the United States.
