Theatrikids was founded in 2008 by Erin Byrne, who has a long history teaching children's theatre. An accomplished singer-songwriter and playwright, Erin was voted “Austin’s Best Female Vocalist” by the Edge Magazine Readers Poll in 2005. 



Erin discovered at a young age that she had a gift for teaching theatre, and she began directing full-length musicals with students as young as 5 when she was 18. Her directing credits include High School Musical, The Sound of Music, Annie, Aladdin, Oliver, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, Peter Pan, Thumbelina, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, and many more. The Original Hit Musical, How to be a Rockstar is the brainchild of Erin, who has spent much time herself as an Austin musician and singer-songwriter.



Erin's teaching style is unique and innovative, which is instrumental in transforming the lives of young people through theatre. She encourages students to use their imaginations and contribute their own ideas into a script, which she believes is the key to unlocking their true potential. She has had phenomenal success with this method of teaching and has seen amazing results in children of all ages, particularly those with learning disabilities, autism, or speech impediments. Erin lives by the philosophy that theatre is the perfect tool to increase a child's self esteem, which is a virtue that will forever enhance one’s life and cannot be taken away.
