Thunderhoops Basketball Shooting Camp is in its 17th year of operation and is one of the largest basketball day camps in Ontario. In its 16 years of operation, Thunderhoops has grown from a one week camp of 60 campers, to a camp of three weeks, accommodating 600 campers. Thunderhoops has sold out the last 10 years in a row. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Thunderhoops diversified program caters to the needs of all players. The directors, Paul Hopper and Marty McCrone, have developed what they feel is the most efficient method of teaching young people how to shoot the basketball, and how to put them in a position to score. Thunderhoops has taught over 6,000 campers over the past 16 years.

Coach McCrone and Coach Hopper were honored in 2001 by the City of Orillia for their contribution to City Basketball programs. The Barrie Royals Basketball Association presented the pair with the prestigious "Kort" award, for their outstanding contribution to basketball in the City of Barrie.
