It seems every time you turn around, Crystal Dunn is in the middle of something special in soccer or getting an award. Whether it is starring for the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team, which finished second at the world championships in New Zealand last year, becoming a vital member of the Long Island Fury en route to another Women’s Premier Soccer League title, playing a key role for the Albertson Fury in another Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association State Cup crown or filling the net for South Side High School, Dunn is making a name for herself.
Dunn also was named girls high school soccer player of the year by Newsday. Dunn, 17, who has verbally committed to the University of North Carolina next fall, also was named the Class A state player of the year by the New York State Sportswriters Association and was named a high school All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
