DescriptionWest River Soccer, a fall recreational soccer program, invites all interested players to sign-up for the fall of 2008. Soccer is offered to all area children in grades K and 1 – 6. The West River Soccer Club exposes players to the game of soccer, so they can develop a love of the game, good sportsmanship, and learn the skills of the game. All this is done through fun based and age appropriate activities approach. Volunteer parent coaches work with the players in a recreational format, with players grouped according to their school class age. We do need parents willing to coach; we offer training and waive the player fee for your child. Please call if you have any interest, or questions.
All practices and home games are played at the Weston Island soccer fields. The youngest (kindergarten through second graders) meet once a week, third graders practice twice per week, and those players in fourth through sixth grades practice twice a week and play games on Saturdays in the Southern Vermont Youth Soccer League. Grades kindergarten – 3rd are co-ed, while the older teams are single gender if there are enough players for each grade. If there are not enough players per grade to form a team, we will combine groups. All travel teams will play seven a side for games – the age appropriate approach to learning the game. Details
