DescriptionThrough athletics, the Southern Vermont College Athletic Department desires to teach student-athletes the meaning of teamwork, trust and competition while guiding them through a period of education, athletic and self-development. We prepare our students to compete in life. Southern Vermont College is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) and New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU). These affiliations have enabled Southern Vermont College to compete against many of the best teams in New England and New York State. The College offers a program in intramural sports and at the Field House provides a Fitness Center with classes in yoga and women's self-defense. On campus, SVC offers hiking and biking trails and in season cross-country skiing, snowboarding and ice skating. In our general region are numerous sites for downhill skiing, golf, canoeing and boating, fishing, tubing, and rock climbing, mountain biking, camping and swimming.
