If you’re a high school student in Michigan, it could mean a $1,000 scholarship for higher education, courtesy of the Pistons and the University of Phoenix. All you have to do is create a unique essay, poem or artwork that conveys your feelings about a person or topic related to Black History. Writing submissions should exceed no more than one page. Photos of the artwork should be submitted instead of the original piece.The student with the winning entry will be recognized on the court at halftime of the Pistons-Spurs game on Feb. 21.
