We would not have a camp without our horses!  We take care of them all winter, and for many years, to use safe, trustworthy horses in our program. Some of the horses in our program are Honey, Rusty, Petty, Tex, Joe, Thor, Cisco, Ghost, Cassie, Bunky, Kissy, Jessie, Ginger, Ellie, Skipper, and more based on your experience level.  We are currently working our two newest horses: Charlie and Latigo, to see how they are going to fit into our program.  We are also working to get pictures of each of these horses to share with you here on the website.

She has been instructing the beginner riders for the last three years and has over 15 years of supervised riding instruction experience.  Together with Debby, Julie has observed several clinicians at various Equine Affaire Events including John Lyons and Stacy Westfall.

Julie is also a fourth grade educator at the Cape Vincent Elementary School.  Several of the learning activities are based on strategies used in today's elementary classrooms while still having fun!

Senior Counselor:

Paige Montroy has worked as a counselor at our camp for six years.  She is a 4-H member and enjoys showing her American Quarter Horse, Sonic's Eagle Jet, "Autumn" in local open and 4-H horse shows. Paige was a camper for several years prior to becoming a counselor and is extremely knowledgable in regard to the horses and needs of the campers. Paige is finishing her Freshman Year at SUNY Potsdam in the concentration of Elementary Education.

Junior Counselors:

Carissa Clark is a familiar face to all of our returning campers.  She has been attending camp as a camper for several years and then moved to a Counselor in Training program and last year finally joined us as a Junior Counselor.  Carissa is always ready to do whatever it takes to make your child's camping experience a successful one. She is very versatile and loved by all campers.  Carissa is finishing her Senior Year at Thousand Islands High School and will be entering the military near the end of the summer.

Jaime Barton is joining us this year as  Junior Counselor.  We are very excited about Jaime returning to our camp in this manner.  Jaime is enjoying breaking in one of our new horses, Tex, into our lesson program.  She and Carissa spend most Saturdays at the barn in addition to being at riding lessons either helping or riding whenever they can.  Jaime is finishing her Senior Year at Thousand Islands High School and will be entering the University of Buffalo in the Fall.
