Description

Back 9 Farms is a friendly, family-oriented riding and boarding facility conveniently located 15 minutes from Jackson and Milan in Lavinia, TN. Our farm is situated on 75 scenic acres. We have a full service state-of-the-art 28 stall barn offering boarding and riding lessons, as well as a summer camp and other mini-camps throughout the year. We offer spacious box stalls and several pastures for turn-out. We have two round pens, a large outdoor riding arena, (another large outdoor arena with lights will be complete in Spring 2008) and an indoor Cover-All arena, as well as multiple riding trails through fields and woods for the pleasure of our horses and riders alike. We are committed to making our barn the best around. We pride ourselves on appreciating each horse as an individual, not only in terms of its basic feed, care and exercise requirements, but in understanding its own particular character and temperament. We welcome you to visit and hopefully choose to make us your barn home. We are extremely conscious that any owner placing their horse in someone else’s care will have concerns and do our utmost to put your mind at ease. Whether you're a serious competitor or would just like some help in enjoying your leisure horse, you're very welcome here.

We offer both private and groups lessons. We have 5 instructors for every level of student and offer lessons in both Western and English styles. Both Western and English lessons begin with lessons on general horsemanshp. We focus not only on riding with a balanced seat, but also on all areas of horsemanship. We present a number of opportunities, all carefully designed to meet the specific needs of all of our students, ages 6 and up, beginner to advanced. We provide an introductory program for children with little or no experience, as well as wonderful experiences for those with more advanced skills to improve both their riding abilities and their general knowledge of horses. Students will appreciate the casual yet structured environment. When a student is ready to specialize, we offer the choices of Speed Events in Western such as barrel racing and pole bending or the slower pace of Western Pleasure. We also love our students to diversify into such events as Trail Classes. In English, we offer hunt seatr, dressage, and jumping. Whether your goals are for competition or riding for pleasure, we focus on safety, education and a correct seat.
