DescriptionBuild-a-Business- Youth will learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur and team up to put their best ideas to the test. They will make connections with community entrepreneurs and MU faculty while gaining skills for planning and starting their own business. GeoTech- Youth will use the latest geospatial technology while exploring a cave. They will return to the geographic laboratory to plot the data on maps. They will also get a chance to GeoCache or create “mashups” in GoogleEarth. Director’s Cut- Youth will move out of the audience and behind the scenes to see what it takes to create a movie. They will be involved in all steps of the process from script writing to acting to filming to editing and everything in between. All while learning from professionals currently working in the film industry. Dog Days of Summer- Campers will experience one of the top Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in the Country. They will get a chance to practice lab skills, operate on mock patients and observe veterinarians in practice with animals of all sizes. Scrub-In to a Health Career- This camp is for those interested in the health field. They will spend time exploring different health careers through hands-on experiences, guest speakers and opportunities at the University Hospital. Four Star Chef (Military Youth Only) This camp is designed for the military child who enjoys eating and preparing different kinds of foods. Youth will learn food preparation techniques and have a chance to practice them on everything from an afterschool snack to a sit-down meal. Campers will also have a chance to meet other military youth and practice skills needed when home alone.
