Sports Staff-In-Training at the Greater Manchester Family YMCA Downtown Branch at 30 Mechanic St. Manchester, NH 03101 Boys and girls ages 14–16 Two 4 week sessions: June 28–July 23; July 26–August 20 Time: 8:30 am –4:00 pm Is your child a natural-born leader? Only a selected number of teens can participate in this exciting program that prepares them for the rewards and responsibilities of being a camp counselor. This four-week program includes workshop training in areas of personal development, decision-making techniques, group work skills and program leadership. Also each participant will take CPR and first aid training certifications. Participants have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice while assisting senior counselors. Sport-A-Day Camp at the Greater Manchester Family YMCA Downtown Branch located at 30 Mechanic St. Manchester, NH 03101 Boys and Girls entering grades 1–9 Five 1 week sessions: June 21–25; July 5–9; August 2-6; August 16–20; August 23–27 Part-time option available Sport-A-Day Camp at the Goffstown Allard Center YMCA located at 116 Goffstown Back Rd. Goffstown, NH 03045 Three 1 week sessions: July 12-16; August 9–13; August 16–20 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time option available This is the camp for the child who can’t decide what sports camp they want to play. We will have a new sport introduced every day. Staff will cover the rules of the sport and then the children will play that sport for the day. Some of the sports covered during the week are basketball, soccer, floor hockey, dodge ball and new games. We will have a choice day on Friday morning followed by our famous Sports Carnival in the afternoon. We swim every day, so bring your suit! Baseball/Softball Camp Boys and Girls entering grades 1–9 Location: Downtown Manchester YMCA, grades 1-9 One 1 week session: July 26–30 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Location: Goffstown Allard Center, grades 4-9 One 1-week session: July 19- 23 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time options available Come learn the basic fundamentals of the sport. The week consists of two days of skill stations to teach the fundamentals of the sport followed with three days of game play. We will have our world series on Friday morning and our famous Sports Carnival in the afternoon. Children 10 and older will travel to Camp Mi-Te-Na on Wednesdays to play them in a baseball game. Campers will receive a gift for participation. Campers strongly encouraged to provide their own glove. We swim every day, so bring your suit! Soccer Camp Downtown Manchester YMCA located at 30 Mechanic St. Manchester, NH 03101 Boys and Girls entering grades 1–9 One 1 week session: July 19–23 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Goffstown Allard Center YMCA located at 116 Goffstown Back Rd. Goffstown, NH 03045 Boys and Girls entering grades 4–9 One 1-week Sessions: July 26–30 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time options available This week consists of two days of skill stations followed by three days of exciting game play along with contests for prizes. We will have our World Cup Finals and our famous Sports Carnival on Friday. Children age 10 and older will travel to Camp Mi-Te-Na on Wednesday to play them in a soccer game. Campers will receive a gift for participation. We will swim every day, so bring your suit! Track & Field Camp Boys and Girls entering grades 1–9 One 1 week session: June 28–July 2 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time options available Come and learn the basics of ten different track and field events. Camp will be held at West High School in Manchester. Campers will learn the ten events at the beginning of the week and will then compete in a three day Olympic style competition. Campers will also participate in our Sports Carnival on Friday. We swim everyday so bring your suit! Campers receive a gift for participation. Lacrosse Camp at the Goffstown Allard Center YMCA located at 116 Goffstown Back Rd. Goffstown, NH 03045 Boys and Girls entering grades 4–9 One 1 week session: August 2–6 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time options available Come learn the basic fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in America. Campers will learn how to cradle and throw a lacrosse ball along with the basic rules of the game. The week consists of two days of skill stations followed with three days of exciting game play along with contests for prizes. We swim every day, so bring your suit! Campers receive a gift for participation. Please bring a mouth guard and water bottle to camp each day. All other equipment is provided. Flag Football Camp Downtown Manchester YMCA located at 30 Mechanic St. Manchester, NH 03101 For boys and girls entering grades 4–9 Two 1 week session: June 28–July 2; August 2–6 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time options available The week consists of two days of skill stations followed with three days of exciting game play along with contest for prizes. We will play our games on the West High School turf field. On Wednesdays, we will travel to Camp Mi-Te-Na to play them in a flag football game. The week will conclude with our super bowl on Friday morning followed by our famous Sports Carnival in the afternoon. We swim everyday so bring your suit. Please bring a mouth guard and water bottle to camp each day. Basketball Camp Downtown Manchester YMCA located at 30 Mechanic St. Manchester, NH 03101 Boys and Girls entering grades 1–9 Two 1 week sessions: July 12–16; August 9–13 Time: 8:30 am–4:00 pm Part-time options available Come have fun learning the sport of basketball by the people who invented it, the YMCA! The week consists of two days of skill stations followed with three days of exciting game play along with contests for prizes. Children 10 and older will travel to Camp Mi-Te-Na on Wednesday to play them in a basketball game. We will have our NCAA finals on Thursday and Friday morning and our famous Sports Carnival Friday afternoon. Campers receive a gift for participation. We swim everyday so bring your suit.
