Description

Ideally located just outside of Columbus, Otterbein College hosts this Nike Basketball Camp. The camp instruction is directed by long-time Nike Sports Camps Director, Kyle Pottkotter.

Coach Pottkotter is the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at OC and brings ten years of basketball coaching experience to the Otterbein men’s basketball program. Prior to coming to Otterbein, he served as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Denison University in Granville, Ohio from 2002-2008. In addition, he served as the head men’s golf coach. Before going to Denison, Pottkotter held the position of assistant men’s basketball coach at The College of Wooster from 1999-2002. During his time at Wooster, he assisted in leading the Fighting Scots to one regular-season North Coast Athletic Conference Championship and two tournament championships.

Also joining Coach Pottkotter is Andrea Hackett. Coach Hackett begins her third season as a graduate assistant for Otterbein College. A native of Springfield, Ohio, Hackett earned four letters playing basketball for Catholic Central High School before becoming a four-year letter winner at Wittenberg University. At Wittenberg, Hackett was a member of the Tigers team that advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 in the 2003-2004 season. She spent all four years at Wittenberg working for her head basketball coach Pam Smith in the athletic office and has worked various basketball camps and shootouts.

Campers will utilize the Rike Center on campus for all basketball instruction. The Rike Center houses physical education facilities and offices. The domed roof encloses an intercollegiate hardwood basketball floor with seating for 3,100; a tenth-mile oval track with an 87-yard straightaway and seating for 600; nets and space to segment three courts each for volleyball, basketball or tennis; equipped weight training room; two handball courts; gymnastics space; and locker rooms for varsity teams and physical education classes.
