DescriptionWest Chester University, located just outside of Philadelphia, is well known in the area for its formidable athletic program. With its top notch coaching staff and premier facilities, West Chester University is the ideal location for a NIKE Girls Basketball Camp. Campers reside on campus and hone their skills daily at the Hollinger Fieldhouse and South Campus Health/ Physical Education Center.West Chester's Lady Ram Head Coach Deirdre Kane returns as the NIKE Camp Director. Deirdre Kane is in the midst of her 22nd season as head coach of West Chester’s women’s basketball program. During her administration, she has racked up 11 consecutive winning seasons (1995-96 to 2004-05), won four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division titles (1992, 1997, 2003 and 2004), been named coach of the year by five different associations and guided the women’s hoops squad to three NCAA Division II Tournament berths (1997, 2001 and 2003). Kane has compiled a 333-255 (.566) record during her tenure at WCU and is the winningest coach in the program’s storied history. She has won more conference games (171) than any active coach in the PSAC Eastern Division. Her overall coaching record is 375-289 (.565) in 24 years on the sideline. Also joining Coach Kane on staff is Kiera Wooden (formerly Kiera Manlove). Coach Wooden begins her fourth season as West Chester University's top assistant in the women's basketball program to head coach Deirdre Kane. Former All-PSAC East player Kiera Wooden returned to the West Chester University women’s basketball team as the program’s first full-time assistant coach prior to the 2004-05 campaign. A 2003 graduate of WCU, Wooden spent the 2003-04 collegiate basketball season as an assistant coach with Division I Longwood (Va.) University in Farmville, Va. The Wilmington, Del., native played four years of varsity women’s basketball at WCU under current head coach Deirdre Kane, earning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division first team honors on three different occasions.
