The Idaho Junior Phenom Camp was initially created from the National adidas Junior Phenom camp. That camp was created to give younger players an opportunity to get ahead in the recruiting game. Introduced in San Diego, California in 2004, the national directors decided they needed a better way to find talent nationwide as opposed to relying on their own sources. At that point, the state camps were born.
This is the third year that Idaho will host an exposure based regional camp of this magnitude. Not only do the kids get a chance to compete against the best players in Idaho, it is their first chance to meet the entire coaching staff of the Idaho Select Basketball Program.
