Description

This school is designed for athletes entering grades 6 to 12 who want to learn sound fundamentals in punting, kicking and snapping. Special training will also be provided for graduating seniors making the transition to college football. Campers are assigned to groups based on their age, grade level, and previous experience. Counselors are specially trained to teach drills and to analyze body movement. Groups are limited to 5 campers each. Beginners are welcome. Female campers may enroll. Parents of young campers are cautioned that this is a serious program of instruction requiring concentration and hard work. This is a non-contact camp.

Campers will be housed in a dormitory near Kidd-Brewer Stadium. (Each camper must bring sheets, towels, pillow and blanket.) Meals will be served in the Welborn Cafeteria. Camp sessions will be conducted in the stadium, and classroom instruction will take place in the Owens Field House. Some practices will be videotaped for counselor-camper discussion. All campers will participate in a kicking/punting/snapping exhibition in Kidd Brewer Stadium on the final day of camp. Campers will be supervised at all times. The strength and conditioning area used by the Appalachian football players is NOT available to campers.
