Cherry Run Camp is dedicated to the cause of Jesus Christ, and to the preaching of the Word of God. The Holy Spirit guides the ministry of this camp, and thus its mission is the winning of people -- especially youth and children -- to the Lord, as well as instructing them in all areas of the Christian faith.
Cherry Run Camp Meeting dates back to 1862. The July 29-August 6, 2000 session marked the 138th Anniversary of the camp. A tabernacle was built in 1868 and was used through the 1999 encampment. It was torn down in fall of 1999 and a new tabernacle was constructed which was dedicated on August 2, 2000. White pine wood from the old tabernacle was made into small crosses and sold to interested persons. Proceeds from the sale were placed in the tabernacle fund. It is likely that the trees were virgin timber when cut to build the tabernacle and likely were growing at the time of the American Revolution and Declaration of Independence in 1776!
Information on the 2010 camp session will be posted as soon as details become available. In the meantime the information on the 2009 session will remain in place here for the benefit of informing new visitors about the camp. Much of the information does remain the same from year to year.
