We have had a decade of Girls Team Camp at UC San Diego and each year it seems to get better.  The camp is a great chance for groups of girls to get together for several days at UC San Diego, escaping the heat of the summer to be along the coast of La Jolla.  It is a unique camp, for while there is some instruction, the premise is to get groups of 6-9 girls together to play matches against other groups from across California and the Southwest.



We guarantee that each group will play five matches against other teams during the week.  These matches consist of three doubles matches and three singles matches.  Usually the players rotate who will play singles so that the team as a whole won’t get tired out during the week.  In the off time, the players will have an individual workout session with either Eric Steidlmayer, Director of Camp at UCSD and Head Coach of UCSD’s Men’s Intercollegiate Tennis Team, or Timmer Willing, Assistant Coach of the Camps and UCSD’s Intercollegiate Athletics Teams.  Teri Dowie, our strength coach, will expose the girls to different strength and conditioning exercises each night – and help the girls get into better shape!
