For campers that have some basic familiarity with playing the game and who love the sport, we suggest our Junior Training Tennis Camp (JTC).
JTC is designed particularly for players who are looking to gain an advantage in next year's team tryouts for their high school or who are looking to play at the collegiate level. The program is operated at The Marcus Lewis Tennis Center located in Acton and it is run by a core of trained instructors (not camp counselors). Besides being an instructor for the MLTC, the director of the program is also the coach of the Acton-Boxborough JV boys team. For many players, this is potentially a chance for the coach to see you before next year! Players are versed in both the fundamentals as well as the techniques that they will need to succeed at a competitive level.
Campers in this program spend their mornings at Devens enjoying the various activities offered in our Junior Discovery and Teen Exploration camps. In the afternoon, campers are then brought to our courts in Acton to participate in the JTC. Because this program does not end until 5:00, parents will need to pick their child up at the Tennis Center located at 100 Nonset Path in Acton.
Campers registered for specialty programs also have the option of taking the morning off from their specialty to join the Junior Discovery or Teen Exploration camps if they would prefer instead to participate in those activities. Again, there is fantastic flexibility with these programs so that your camper returns to you with a wonderful smile and great stories to share.
