Incoming SMU transfer Heather Steinbauer won a pair of matches at the U.S. Open Qualifier at Arlington Tennis Center on Wednesday, June 23. Steinbauer topped Kenna Kilgo of Midway, Texas, 6-4 6-3, in opening-round play and then former Texas A&M standout and current TCU Assistant Coach Sarah Foster Gray, 6-0, 6-4, to reach the tournament's quarterfinals.

Steinbauer, a Woodlands, Texas, native, is transferring to SMU from Vanderbilt, where she played No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles in 2010. She will be a junior when she suits up for SMU in 2010-11.
