DescriptionGirl Scouting is a movement that began nearly 100 years ago in 1912 through the vision of one woman, Juliette Gordon Low. Girl Scouts is a movement that motivates its members to reach inside themselves and with the support of peers and caring adults, to become strong leaders in many contexts, starting with taking charge of one’s own life, and then making that life meaningful through action taken with others to make the world a better place. The legacy of NYPENN Pathways Girl Scouts lies in the rich history of the former Girl Scout Councils known as Central New York, Foothills, Indian Hills, Seven Lakes, and Thousand Islands. Through a National realignment of Girl Scout Councils, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Inc. was chartered in July, 2009. The History and Archives Committee of NYPENN Pathways was formed in August, 2009. Details
