Stonybrook is not only the Official Camp of Summer, it’s the official camp of MY summer! I’ve been coming to Stonybrook since I was 3, and from that very first summer, Stonybrook made me feel at home. Stonybrook has given me the opportunity to meet my best friends in the whole world—friends who have become more than friends—they’re family. Stonybrook has taught me what real friendship is and has also taught me a lot about myself. Stonybrook has given me self-confidence that I never had before and helped to make me into a better person. Stonybrook is so full of fun, friends, and new adventures that now I really can’t imagine summer without it.

In the 10 years that I’ve been coming to Stonybrook I’ve grown and learned so much, and I’ve also made some really great friendships. There’s always something fun to do because there are so many activities to choose from. I’ve tried making pottery, wall climbing, basketball, volleyball, dance, kayaking, softball, soccer, music, fishing, and tons of other stuff. I always knew I was good at basketball, but I was surprised that I was also pretty good at making pottery once I got the hang of it.

The climbing tower was maybe the most surprising thing of all. When I first saw it, I was terrified, but after a few weeks, with the help of the counselors and some of my friends, I finally made it to the top. That was amazing!

The counselors and specialists at Stonybrook are really great! They really care about the campers, and they know a lot about how to help them succeed at camp. With the counselors and specialists I’ve been able to learn a lot and do things that I, at the beginning of the summer, never thought I could do. Also, every summer I see a lot of the same counselors and specialists, which is cool. It’s nice to see counselors and campers who you know and who know you. It makes camp feel like a family.

Stonybrook has really been fantastic for me. I’ve done things I never thought I would; I’ve made amazing friends; and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it. Trust me, you’re going to love Stonybrook. I’ll see you this summer!
