MPHFC’s first Summer Soccer Camp took place the week of July 12th at College Park High School. Boys and girls ages 8-13 years old participated in the camp. MPHFC’s mission was to host a camp run by local coaches, trainers and players that would offer local kids the opportunity to improve soccer skills while having a lot of fun. By all accounts, that mission was accomplished!
The camp was run by MPHFC coaches and trainers, college students and players from older MPHFC teams (Crossfire, Sting and Velocity). Campers, trainers and volunteers braved the hot weather to participate in soccer drills, games, and other events which included water balloon toss and soccer trivia. Campers received a free MPHFC t-shirt and were awarded prizes such as soccer jerseys, movie tickets and more.
MPHFC is proud of the success of this first camp and is excited to be in the planning stages for a holiday camp to take place over the winter break. Be sure to sign up for the MPHFC e-newsletter to receive information on future camps.
A big thank you to Miles Young, Andrew Bower, Jeremy Bedig and Jennifer Mastrogiorgio for their work throughout the week to make the camp a success. Thanks also to our fantastic group of trainers, volunteers and campers!
