The Board of Trustees hired Adam Conn to serve as the Executive Director. Adam is no stranger to Camp Presmont having worked as both lifeguard and kitchen staff. He served in the United States Navy and now serves in the National Guard. Adam is also a full-time student at Zane State Community College and serves as Coordinator of Youth Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Cambridge. Adam and his wife, Stephanie, whom he met at Camp Presmont, are parents to Aidan (3) and Teagan (8 months).
The Camp Presmont family has benefited from lots of spring cleaning help this year. A group from Unity Presbyterian Church in Cambridge pitched in to help clean up the lodge, cabins, bathhouses, and trails. The Mariners in Mission group took on several larger jobs including sewing curtains, landscaping a prayer garden, painting cabin interiors and roofs, and helping build a new garage. Calvary Presbyterian Church's youth group from St. Clairsville also spent a day cleaning up the playground. Finally, our Board members and their families have spent several weekends cleaning, repairing, and sprucing up the grounds preparing for the onset of the camping season.
Our new Executive Director's cabin - to be named Emmaus - and camp office will be completed in time for the camping season to begin. Bob and Kathy Werner from Habitat for Humanity and Mark Rila, long-time friend of the camp, have spent many hours, days, and weeks building this cabin. If you see them at camp this summer, thank them.
Our "Fan of Camp Presmont" Facebook group currently has 96 members. If you are a Facebooker and want to keep up on Camp Presmont happenings, join the "Fan of Camp Presmont" group. Check out the new faces of this summer's staff. Staff names and faces will appear here soon.
Finally, mark your calendars for Camp Presmont Homecoming on Saturday, August 1. It will be a FREE day of recreation and fellowship at the camp we all love. Hope to see you there.
