Chris has been teaching Equestrian Martial Arts at Turnout Stables for over 3 years. Equestrian Martial Arts is the study and practice of any and all aspects of fighting and defending from horseback with hand-held weapons as well as archery. The main weapons taught for use on horseback are sword, lance, and bow. Equestrian Martial Arts is an ancient and elite form of combat that, although now obsolete in modern militaries, has not entirely been lost to history.Chris offers a look into the skills and techniques that horse-borne warriors used in ages past. In essence, you can learn to ride like a knight! Most lessons are private, one-on-one affairs, but group lessons can be arranged. Chris also teaches historical martial arts of both the Italian and German traditions.Turnout Stables is an established competitive equestrian facility that is situated on the outskirts of Kemptville, Ontario, approximately 30 minutes from Ottawa’s west-end. It has become a place tonurture your love of horses and forge new friendships.Turnout Stables, Williams' Farm, has been in the Williams familyfor three generations. However since 1995, Debbie Williams (coach/owner) has dedicated herself full-time to helping competitors and pleasure riders ofall ages attain theirgoals.The end of show season is almost here for Turnout with only one OVPSC show left to go.  The Trillium riders wrapped up their season with a memorable time at Championships in Palgrave, Ont.  (Sep. 10-13), coming home with a number of ribbons.Last weekend Turnout held it's second annual in-house Fall Fun Show which was a huge success! Riders of all ages & levels, along with family and friends, enjoyed a wonderful day in the sun filled with fun & laughter. Highlights of the day included the Parent Lead Line class & a special surprize birthday celebration for one of our riders. Thanks to everyone who came out.
