Camp Playland was founded in 1957 by Pearl and Walter Bloom.  

Sixty-eight campers were enrolled the first summer and the facilities consisted of one pool and a ball field.  Every year new additions are made to the Playland facility resulting in the premier campus of Fairfield County.In 1973, Gary Bloom joined his parents as partner and has since become the owner and director.

Today Camp Playland enrolls over four hundred campers and has a staff of over one hundred and thirty teachers, college and high school students.  We enjoy and are proud of our fine reputation.

Camp Playland was started in 1957 and has always been operated by the Bloom family.  This will be our 54th summer serving children in Fairfield and Westchester counties.  We enroll over four hundred campers and we have a staff of one hundred and thirty counselors.

The Playland staff is the key ingredient for a successful summer.  For you to consider working at Playland you should be a mature, positive person, a role model and a mentor.  You should enjoy working with young children and working outdoors at camp activities.  Your enjoyment will enable the campers to have a wonderful summer.
