DescriptionHouse in the Wood Camp is a resident co-ed summer camp serving urban children from Chicago. Our campers range from ages seven through twelve with a leadership program for our thirteen to seventeen year olds. They represent a cross section of Chicago’s diverse population. In addition to enjoying our outdoor and waterfront programs, our campers learn a variety of essential social and living skills. During the off-season, House in the Wood operates as a conference and retreat center. The revenue from this operation helps support our summer camp. Each of our rental groups has exclusive use of our entire campus. They can customize their rental to meet their specific needs, choosing from a variety of living and meeting options. Food service is available and has been highly rated by our guests. Standard and vegetarian menus are available. House In The Wood is operated by Northwestern University Settlement in Chicago, Illinois. Our main sponsor is the North Shore Board of the Settlement. Details
