Description

JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood provides campers with an unforgettable, fun summer experience while developing their independence, self-confidence, individual skills and team abilities, nurturing lifelong friendships and strengthening their Jewish identities.

Our vision:

To be the Jewish overnight camp in New England that embraces all Jewish campers, staff and their families.  Kingswood is a place where all members of the camp community will be safe to grow and develop their Jewish identity and their self-confidence regardless of their denomination, skin color or special needs. We welcome campers and staff from diverse backgrounds and from traditional and non-traditional families.

The woods in which we live and play together bring a special awareness and appreciation of nature into all that we do. Campers learn the skills needed to live in the woods including fire building, cooking over fires and stoves, orienteering, and conservation. Campers have the opportunity to use these skills on a variety of hiking and mountain trips ranging in length from 1-3 days.

Located on 100 acres of towering pines bordering Woods Pond – a spring-fed lake in the Lakes Region of southern Maine – JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood offers a broad athletic, creative arts and cultural program that allows approximately 300 campers many opportunities to deepen their skills and try new things. Our highly trained and experienced staff provides individualized instruction as well as one-to-one attention that all campers need.

We emphasize opportunities to develop interests and to experiment with new ideas and activities in sports, outdoor life, and the cultural and creative arts. The Kingswood program is very flexible. Families can choose to enroll campers for 3-1/2, 5-1/2 or seven weeks. There is a two-week Intro to Camping option for campers entering grades 3-5 and also Gesher, a three night program, for first-time campers entering grades 2-5.

We serve the Greater Boston community, and partner with the Jewish communities of Portland, ME, Newton, MA and Stoughton, MA as well. Our campers come from all of these areas - and from as far away as California, Canada and Israel!
