Offering outstanding ministrydoes have its costs. The ministriesprovided at Monroe andKirkwood are invaluable to all
those who come through ourgates. The Presbytery of CoastalCarolina recently approved theCommittee on Outdoor Ministries’
“Strategic Plan for 2006 and Beyond,”to address many of the financialand programmatic challenges.Outdoor Ministry is a very important
part of our Presbytery. Thesecamps provide us with an avenueto reach all ages of varying culturalbackgrounds in ways that
are particularly meaningful. Thecamps have also been a base for thosereaching out to those in the communities
that surround the camps and have been avaluable part of relief efforts for hurricanevictims in our local area over the past decade.
Those of us working with Kirkwoodand Monroe are excited about our future, and are looking for ways to involve more
people in confronting the challenges thatface our camps in the years to come.
