Our Mission

The YMCA of Greater Long Beach is an Association that welcomes people of all ages, ethnic groups, and religious affiliations to unite in a common effort to put Judeo-Christian principles and values into practice, through programs that develop healthy spirit, mind, and body for ourselves, our families, our children and community.

Founded in 1959, the Weingart-Lakewood Family YMCA has been an important part of the greater Lakewood area building Strong Kids, Strong Families and Strong Communities. For more than 48 years, our YMCA has embraced the balanced strength of Spirit, Mind and Body. Click Here to find out what the YMCA Mission is all about.

YMCA Financial Assistance Program.

The YMCA is a not-for-profit, health and human services organization committed to helping people reach their full potential in spirit, mind and body. YMCAs are here to serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and incomes. The YMCA is community-based and believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone. That's why the YMCA offers a Financial Assistance Program. The Financial Assistance program is a sliding fee scale that is designed to fit each individual's financial assistance situation. The YMCA believes a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if the recipient has contributed to the cost of their YMCA involvement; therefore, you will be asked to pay some portion of the fees.
