DescriptionAmerican Baptist Churches of New York State, a regional expression of the Body of Christ, in response to Christ’s call, assumes responsibility for leading, challenging, resourcing and empowering our churches and Associations so the liberating Good News might be proclaimed, experienced and lived in fullness. The Board of Mission is a representative body of thirty-six persons (one from each association; nine at-large; five officers, presidents or designees of four recognized auxiliary organizations; and the executive minister). The Board establishes the policies and sets the priorities for the American Baptist Churches of New York State. Members are elected at the biennial meeting for a four-year term. The Board's ultimate responsibility is to enable American Baptists through New York State to make a difference in persons' lives, their churches, associations, and communities. The Search Committee interviewed candidates last Friday, February 5th. They were very good interviews. Our committee will meet again on February 19. In the meantime, we continue to seek to discern God's will for leadership for our region. Please continue to pray for the candidates, for our committee members and for the Holy Spirit's leading in this process. We are grateful. Details
