Description

Camp Fire USA is one of the nation’s leading non-profit youth development organizations, currently serving nearly 750,000 children and youth throughout the country. Camp Fire USA, with national headquarters in Kansas City, MO, provides inclusive coeducational programs in hundreds of communities across the United States. Founded in 1910, Camp Fire USA’s outcome based programs include youth leadership, self- reliance, after school groups, camping and environmental education and child care.

As the first nonsectarian, interracial organization for girls in the United States, Camp Fire USA takes pride in its long standing commitment to providing fun programs and services to all children and families in America. We are inclusive, open to every person in the communities we serve, welcoming all regardless of race, religion, socio-economic status, disability, sexual orientation or other aspect of diversity. Camp Fire USA’s programs are designed and implemented to reduce sex-role, racial and cultural stereotypes and to foster positive intercultural relationships.

The Orange County Council has been serving the community since 1956. In 2008-09, The Orange County Council provided 800,000 hours of program services to 4,500 children, youth and parents - 43% of our program participants were middle school-aged youth. Our programs are offered in collaboration with more than 80 schools, churches, community centers and other youth serving agencies. With an annual budget over $2 million and a staff of more than 100,. The agency provides high quality after-school programs; day camps and camping; teen programs and other programs that support families.
