Sumatanga summer camps serve to positively shape each camper’s life, while inspiring young Christians to renew the church and change the world. In order to accomplish this, we strive for a summer camp experience where each camper has a lot of fun, is safe and feels safe, and participates in a sacred time and place called summer camp at Sumatanga.

Camp Sumatanga is located in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachians. The campus includes a lake for fishing and canoeing, hiking trails, a low ropes course, a large swimming pool, game fields, tennis courts, and a basketball court. Camp Sumatanga is accredited by the American Camping Association.

Very few individuals get the opportunity, but all who do gain the experience of a lifetime….to lead campers through a week of camp at Sumatanga. It is hard work, 90 degrees in the shade, little pay (or none for volunteers), chiggers and mosquitoes, away from friends and family, and always with a group of energetic kids looking to you for leadership. There are far more comfortable and easier summer jobs out there.
