Campers ages 14-17 with ADHD or Asperger's will take part in an inspiring 3 week expedition in the mountainous region of Redmond, Oregon. In an environment that invites self reflection, campers will learn accountability, teamwork, confidence, and goal setting through a wide variety of experiential activities.
Activities: In this backpacking, rock climbing and paddling adventure, participants discover the natural and cultural history of the area, as well as discovering their own selves. Using the powerful natural metaphors present throughout their journeys, the small group has ample opportunities to build community, support each other in their challenges, and build upon their hidden strengths. Throughout the trip, the staff focuses on building social interaction, problem-solving and personal initiative abilities.
Personal Growth: In small groups, campers with very similar needs and strengths are placed together. This allows for a highly targeted approach to building social skills, self confidence, and self regulation. Highly trained staff make use of the stunning natural environment and small group culture to promote personal characteristics that will help our campers succeed.
