The ability to maintain peak form throughout an entire race - is the key to peak performance. Watch any great swimmer compete and you will notice that their form remains constant from beginning to end. At Peak Performance Swim Camp we believe the secret to peak form lies in the approach - namely a holistic approach combining mental, physical and technical conditioning.
At first glance, one might wonder what mental conditioning has to do with peak form development. But if one considers the typical training environment - countless laps, crowded pool conditions and high swimmer to coach ratios it underscores the need to condition key mental skills - such as focus, resourcefulness and self-motivation.
When it comes to peak form development the need for physical and technical conditioning is obvious. From a physical perspective a swimmer must possess the essential three - strength, flexibility and endurance. From a technical perspective a swimmer must develop the right feel for the water and correct motor skills.
