Description

The Belmont Hill campus remains alive with activity throughout the summer with a wide range of programs available. Our Summer School, which is entering its 30th year, offers academic courses and art and tennis workshops for boys and girls in grades 6 to 12. The Sport Camps provide boys and girls ages 6 to 15 with a variety of opportunities to enjoy and learn more about their favorite sports. At Belmont Hill, summer is a time to grow.

The six-week Summer School classes offer a solid line-up of courses taught by experienced teachers within small group settings. Each student may select as little or as much from our program as individual needs or interests dictate. Unique combinations can be tailored to each student.

Academic classes can be paired with art and tennis workshops to create a full day of studies and activity on campus. Summer offerings include math, science, language, English, history, computer and test preparation courses. The art workshops include advanced studio art, photography, theatre, woodworking,  jewelry making, pottery, multimedia arts and crafts, and painting and drawing. Tennis workshops are available for beginners and more advanced players.

We also offer two three-week  sessions which include math and English workshops for grades 6 to 12, SAT Test Preparation for high school students, and SSAT Preparation, ISEE Preparation and study skills courses for middle school students.

The Sport Camps are tailored to separate ages and skill levels with the intent to improve both individual fundamentals and level of play. Homogeneous groups, according to age, grade and playing experience, are established for skills instruction and games. In addition to the development of skills, coaches stress good sportsmanship and cooperative learning. The director of each camp is a qualified professional as well as a teacher/coach in the Belmont Hill tradition. The camps offered in 2010 will include baseball, advanced baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, softball, field hockey, wrestling, strength and conditioning and Junior Sports.
