The Four Corners Christian Camp came into existence in 1966 through the efforts of five non-denominational Christian Churches in the Four Corners region who saw the need to a summer camp facility for youth.  Thirty acres of land on the shores of Summit lake eight miles northwest of Mancos, CO, we purchased and developed for this purpose.  The property is situated among the majestic ponderosa pines in the heart of Montezuma County's recreational area.

  

The original five churches involved in the purchase and development of this property were the Christian Churches of Cortez and Durango, Colorado, Aztec and Farmington, New Mexico, and the Navajo Indian Churches in New Mexico and Arizona.  Two other churches, Bayfield Christian Church of Bayfield, Colorado and Gallup Christian Church of Gallup, New Mexico have since partnered as member churches.Our Executive Director, Bill Ellingson, and his wife Jan

Bill and Jan have been with the camp (part-time) from 2001 through 2009.  They began serving in 2001 with SOS (Servants Of Our Savior RV Ministry) when they camp to the camp as cooks and maintenance workers.  In 2004 Bill returned to continue serving the camp as camp Manager and Jan took over all Kitchen operations.  In 2006 they volunteered their services on a full-time basis and live at the camp from the middle of April thru the middle of September.  During the off season, they operate the camp from Ferndale Washington.

  Bill served seventeen years as an Elder in the Gallup Christian Church in Gallup, New Mexico, and the Valley Christian Church in Billings, Montana.  He served with the Montana Christian Evangelical Association for twenty-one years on the Executive Board as a Director, Secretary, and Finance Director.  He was Finance Director for the King's Christian Church in Lolo, Montana for three and one half years.  Jan was church secretary for eight years at the Valley Christian Church in Billings, Montana.  She taught and cooked at Little Rockies Christian Camp in Landusky, Montana.

 

  Bill and Jan have been marries over 50 years, have two married daughters and one son (deceased) and five grandchildren.
