DescriptionThe Frederick County 4-H Camping program provides youth a secure and nuturing atmosphere for learning and exploring their world. Each summer, the Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center bustles with learning activities that are not often part of traditional club work. Campers enjoy a wide variety of learning experiences. Classes are taught by University of Maryland faculty, 4-H Volunteers, and 4-H Camp Counselors. Camp Counselors gain leadership, public speaking, and volunteers skills. Counselors work throughout the year to learn new skills to help them work with campers in a variety of situations and to meet the requirements of the American Camping Association. Training includes conflict resolution, working with young children, First Aid, and CPR. These young people build relationships with each other and their adult leaders that last a lifetime. Details
