DescriptionThe Lord has given me strength and good health to allow me to give one year service to His Kingdom through the Dallas District at Scottsville Nazarene Camp and Conference Center which I have been a part of for 63 years. A boy at age 11 was brought to Scottsville by his pastor, Dr. Clyde Ammons for a week of boys and girls camp. I feel in love with it at first sight and to this day still get excited about being at Scottsville. What was intended to be a three month interim period has this month been one full year. The board has asked me to stay at least another six months and we both will evaluate everything at that time. Remember us in your prayers, God is performing miracle after miracle on these Holy grounds. To Him be praised! Praises should be given for so many new groups that have been here in January and February and seven of them have rebooked for January or February next year, 2010. After 12 years the camp purchased a ž ton Chevy with a long bed and extended cab. Since we have been blessed so abundantly this year we were able to pay cash which is a big saving in itself, no interest. February has been an all time high in attendance and revenue in the camps ministries here at Scottsville, PTL! Thanks for praying a lot of these groups in, God does answer prayer. We were able to buy 180 squares of 30 year composition roofing at about the price of the 20 year shingles. Randy Williams, a camp board member who is in the roofing business brought his wonderful crew and they tore off all the old shingles and put new roofing on Yocum Center, Ingle and Halliburton dorms. He matched the price of the lowest bid. Randy and his crew will return in March to re-roof the dinning hall and a few other designated roofs. They also roofed the new Primetime Conference Center which we hope to have completed at the end of March. We have it rented four times in April already. We have the final approval needed to build the eight plex cabin (small lodge). We will begin construction March 1, 2009 and hope to have it completed for family camp in August 12-16 this year. Put those dates on your calendars now changed to Wednesday thru Sunday. Get your housing reservations through Rev. David Lanicek. These rooms will be comparable to the Hamiter lodge and will be built next to the new conference center. We must give praises for all our volunteers ROAM’ers that worked throughout February. We have three new families that will help us during March and April. Also for our District family volunteers that have helped work on the new projects this month, especially Joe and Deloris Halliburton and Marvin McDaniel from Greenville for wiring the new conference Center and Bob Castro and Chris Elmore from our Terrell church for putting in the insulation and sheet rocking the conference room. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We have the laundry room completed and will use it daily for the camps linen and a nice close place for our volunteers RV’ers to do their laundry. This was another miracle God provided that was not on this years agenda. Visit the nice Upper room when you are in Scottsville. Details
