Description

Luccock Park will accommodate up to 170 guests at a time. We do not provide programs as camps attending decide on their own schedules. We provide a beautiful place with large meadow and many recreational opportunities.  The A- frame dining hall and adjacent recreation center is a gathering place for programs, dances, and board games.  Twenty long tables in this hall will accomodate arts/quilting groups for workshops.  Leave the cooking to us. The large kitchen/dining hall serves three hot meals daily which is included in the overnight camp fee.  The cabins and lodges surround a  central meadow and are mostly logGlendive cabin  structures that will sleep from 4 to 36 campers.  All the 14 cabins have electricity.  Two shower houses offer hot water showers and flush toilets.

Recreational activities at Luccock Park focus on, but are not limited to, meadow games. Many hours can be filled with softball, volleyball, basketball, soccer and horseshoes.  The recreation hall has ping pong tables.  Horseback trail rides are just down the hill from the camp and reservations can be made from the camp.  Raft trips are available through several local companies during the summer.

Hiking trails start at the camp and lead past waterfalls to alpine lakes.  The Pine Creek waterfall is aPine Creek Falls mile hike on a good trail through the woods or continue another four miles to Pine Creek Lake.  A good trail leads 7 miles to Georges Lake. The hikes to these alpine lakes have some steep stretches but are worth the climb.

Tie up some flies and bring your rod!  Pine Creek runs along the north edge of the camp where there is fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout. Some of the greatest fly fishing and rafting in Montana is just down the hill on the Yellowstone River.

When the day ends watch the evening being ushered in with a magnificent sunset.  At almost seven thousand feet above sea level and with no light pollution,  it is hard to find a better view of the stars on a clear night.  Grab some marshmallows or your guitar and join the nightly campfire circle.

Be sure to bring your camera to capture photos of friends, the wildlife, birds, and beautiful scenery.  Take a short drive through the valley and try some of the local gourmet restaurants or relax in the hot spring pools of Chico, just fifteen minutes away.   Take a day trip to Yellowstone National Park,Horseback riding America's first and most unique National Park.  But mostly, come to relax and enjoy the serenity and beauty of this unique camp.

Luccock Park Camp is located nine miles south of Livingston, Montana, and 48 miles north of Gardiner, Montana, the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.  The camp is located above the village of Pine Creek in Paradise Valley.  To the east is the Absaroka Range of the Beartooth Mountains.  Luccock Park is situated in a large natural meadow surrounded by virgin timber at the base of three massive mountains; Mt. McKnight, Black Mountain, and Martin Peak (fondly called "Faith, Hope, and Charity").  Pine Creek runs along the north boundary of the camp.  A good paved road leads to the camp. (See "Map" for detailed directions to camp.)
