Located in Newburgh IN (Warrick County), Camp Brosend/Brosend Ministries has provided forty-five consecutive years of youth summer camps ministering to nearly 10,000 youth since 1954.  The dream of Rev. and Mrs. Frank Brosend that began in 1950 as Camp Brosend has grown into Brosend Ministries, a camp, conference, and retreat facility incorporated in 1987.  The Brosends donated the original twenty-acres of property to the General Baptist Christian Education and Publication Board of Poplar Bluff, MO ("GBCE&P").  Construction of the majority of today's buildings took place between October 1950 and August 1953 to prepare for the first summer camp in 1954.  Later, twenty additional acres were purchased by the GBCE&P Board and added to the camp to make today's property of forty-acres.  On April 24, 1999 the transfer of the property from the GBCE&P Board to Brosend Ministries and the five local associations was approved.

Since the formation of Brosend Ministries, the facility has ministered to families, people with disabilities, women, men, couples, and children through summer camps and retreats.  In 1996, the youth camp age divisions were expanded from three camps to five camps including grades 1-12.  Expanding the camping program allowed us to minister more effectively to narrowly focused age groups. In 1996, the ministry also added a trained staff of paid counselors and a program coordinator to the summer staff.

Our Love Week ministry to people with disabilities has benefited 273 disabled people and their families who seldom receive relief in caring full-time for their disabled relatives.  The camp facility is also used throughout the year by an average of 28 churches and community groups, including Girl Scouts, sororities, and students from local schools, each year since 1992 for use to further their own programs.
