Description

In 1954, Pastor Louis Menge had a vision for a Grace youth camp in Wisconsin. Pastor Menge heard of a piece of land on Berry Lake and put down a deposit and earnest money to hold the property. The purchase included our present lodge, canteen, and cabin 5&6. In November, the camp was incorporated under a board of directors. The property was designated as a nonprofit organization and called Northern Grace Youth Camp.

In the Spring of 1956 cabins 1-4, the central bath and the dining hall/chapel were built. All was completed in time for the camp to open on schedule for the first season. Within the next few years, the properties on both sides of the camp were purchased and the camp took its present size of 6 acres. In 1984, Northern received 60 acres of land located on the Oconto River just four miles from the camp. This land is used for games, hiking and overnight camping. In 1999 our dining hall was renovated to allow year round use. In 2002 we completed the construction of our new chapel and the purchase of an additional lot on Berry Lake.

The purpose of Northern Grace Youth Camp is to provide a spiritual camp environment where people can find Christ as savior and be renewed through the study of God's Word, fellowship and serving him.Northern Grace Youth Camp was founded in 1956 for the purpose of introducing youth to the saving Gospel of God's grace and encouraging Christians to grow in their daily walk with Christ. We have remained true to that purpose and it is the guiding purpose in all of our programs.

We are wondering if your campground offer's camping for adults, and trailers? We visited a campground in Michigan this summer called "Covanent Campground" just outside of Flint,MI. We had a wonderful time. They had church service in the evenings (on the property), and morning bible study, everyday accept Sunday mornings' where they had Sunday morning worship service. We are really looking for a CHRISTIAN CAMPGROUND in Wisconsin, so we do not have to travel so far.
God's Blessings,
