Description

The Illinois Baptist State Association received a charter as an Illinois corporation on November 2, 1907, at Marion, Illinois. Its place of business was moved to Du Quoin, Illinois in 1923, to Carbondale, Illinois in 1930 and to Springfield, Illinois in 1971.

The church is not a place to go – it’s a people who go!  Yes, we assemble at a church building (usually), but we go many other places as well.  When the opportunity was presented to me this past fall to go to India and Bangladesh, I didn’t hesitate.  My encounter with three men reminded me of the divine intersection of three men of the New Testament.

For approximately $30, Illinois Baptists can provide a Haitian family with enough food for a week. That’s the idea behind Buckets of Hope, a nationwide effort to send desperately-needed supplies to

Haiti in the aftermath of this month’s earthquake.
