DescriptionSettled in the Deboullie Township in the heart of the North Maine Woods, 26 miles from Portage and 30 miles from the Canadian border, the Red River Camps caters to outdoor enthusiasts who just want to get away from it all. We are surrounded by low-lying, rugged mountains; rock slides and ice caves leave poignant reminders of the area's glacial heritage. Red River is self-contained community of 17 buildings situated on Island Pond. We have 9 guest cabins that sleep between 2 and 8 guests. Our main lodge, completely rebuilt in 2009, offers a place for our guests to dine, mingle, and relax; it is large enough for family gatherings, intimate weddings, or unique corporate events. OUR CABINS AND PLANS We have nine cabins - 3 Housekeeping (including one on its own private island) and 6 American Plan; each of the cabins was hand-hewn and built between 1886 and 1945. All of our cabins are private to your party and include: linens, sheets, pillows, and towels; ensuite bathrooms with hot and cold running water; and wood stoves, firewood, and kindling. The cabins have electricity only when the generator is running. At night, light is provided by propane lamps. American Plan guests enjoy a full breakfast and dinner served family-style in the dining room of the main lodge; a packed lunch to eat on one of the ponds, on the trail, or in the dining room; and breads, biscuits, and desserts baked fresh daily. Housekeeping cabins are equipped for our guests to do their own cooking- each has its own kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, and sink; charcoal grill; cookware; and dishes. Details
