Description

Camp Sampler

Completed 1st - 9th grades



  • The same activities as Settlers and Trailblazers, but a shorter amount of time at camp

  • Campers will arrive on Tuesday and depart Friday


Ideal for: youth that want to try out camp or who are too busy for a full week.


Settler and Trailblazer

Settler Completed 1st - 3rd grades

Trailblazer Completed 4th - 6th grades



  • Campers will live in cabins based on age an gender

  • Daily activities include: art, archery, slingshot, canoe and kayak, fishing, swimming, dance, drama, creative writing, sports, music and much more!

  • All camp activities include group games, campfires, a weekly dance, talent show and theme activities each week

  • Daily prayer, weekly mass and a focus on faith

  • Sign up with a friend or make new friends when you arrive!


Pathfinder

Completed 7th - 9th grades



  • The same activities as Settler and Trailblazer, but skill level will be increased to match higher ability for their age

  • Pathfinders will go on an overnight camping trip offsite where they will hike, cook over a fire, sleep in a tent and spend time doing outdoor activities (please see packing list for appropriate clothing)


Leaders-In-Training

Completed 10th grade



  • 2 week program

  • LIT will go home over the weekend

  • Week 1- teambuilding, communication, leadership activities, combined with a service project, all camp activities and personal reflection

  • Week 2- assist counselors leading activities, all camp activities, teambuilding


Ideal for: yteens interested in service, leadership or a future with camp.


Counselors-In-Training

Completed 11th grade



  • 2 week program

  • CIT will go home over the weekend

  • Week 1 - service project, teambuilding and leadership activities, goal setting and professionalism

  • Week 2- live in cabins, assist staff in camper supervision, lead activities

  • CIT continues the work of LIT, but prior LIT experience is not required


Ideal for: teens interested in service, leadership or a future with camp.


Work Crew

Completed 10th - 12th grades



  • 1 week volunteer program

  • Retreat style program based on service and personal development

  • WC will spend the days doing projects around camp- cleaning, grounds, etc. as well as a variety of group activities and prayer

  • WC will participate in all-camp activities

  • Sign up for 1 week or 9!


Ideal for: teens interested in earning service hours or gaining job experience.


 


 


 



Themes


The weekly schedule for each week will include most of the same daily activities. Each day 1-2 activities will be theme based and will change from week to week.


Pirates and Ninjas at CYC!

June 20-25

Have you ever wanted to build your own pirate ship or learn to be stealth like a ninja? Make your own ninja bandana or eye patch in arts and crafts, take part in the pirate/ninja relay challenge (which will involve working with your cabin mates to race your ship, make your way through an obstacle course) and much more!


Hawaiian Week at CYC!

June 27-July 2

Surfs up! It's time for the best beach party around! Play water games, learn to hula dance, create beautiful leis in arts and crafts, learn traditional Hawaiian songs and games and so much more!


Camp Sampler!

July 6-9

If you've never been away to camp before and want to check it or, or if you have such a busy schedule but you really want to get to CYC, this is the perfect week for you. Slightly shorter, but just as much fun, this is a compact version of camp!


Walk of Fame!

July 11-16

Walk the red carpet, star in your own commercial, sing, dance, and celebrate how fabulous you are! This week will include lots of opportunities to perform, create, and be creative!


Halloween in the Summer!

July 18-23

Create your own costume, design ghoulish decorations, carve a watermelon, learn to monster mash and many other fabulous Halloween activities will keep you busy. Finish the week off with trick or treating around the cabins!


Art and Science Extravaganza!

July 25-30

Do you love arts and crafts? This week will be filled with the coolest crafts, from basket making to leather work to wood working and painting. Is science your thing? This will also be a week of experiments, discovery and exploration!


Operation Purple at CYC!

August 1-6

Each year, the National Military Family Association selects camps from around the country to host their Operation Purple program for one week. CYC is honored to welcome campers whose parents are currently deployed in the military for a week of camp fun. This program is free to participants but is application only. Visit www.nmfa.org to apply to this program and for more information.


Superheroes at CYC!

August 8-13

Superheroes aren't just in comic books and movies, they are all around us! Prepare to be amazed as you uncover the superpowers that are within you. Design your own cape and then team up with your cabin mates to fight crime, compete in the obstacle course and show off your skills!


CYC Olympics!

August 15-20

Can you hear the cheering and the excitement of the crowd yet? Show off true team spirit as you work with your cabin mates in a variety of challenges from relay races to tug of war. Victory can only go to those who truly understand good sportsmanship, so get ready for lots of high fives, encouragement and celebration!!
