  • Seedlings: Ages 5-6, June 7-11 or July 12-16

Young children are experts at imitating animal sounds, but few actually get to hear a rooster crow, a donkey bray, or sheep go 'meeeeh!' This week, campers will not only hear the barnyard symphony, they will taste food they pick and cook themselves, sing songs, play barnyard games, groom animals, and craft fun childhood memories.

Farm Explorers: Ages 7-9, June 14-18 or July 19-23

It is easy to forget how many 'toys' nature has to offer. At farm camp our Legos are sticks in the woods. At our tea parties, we make our own tea from herbs we grew in the garden and sweeten it with the harvest of local bees. And instead of watching cartoons or playing with stuffed animals, campers feed and groom goats and chickens. Come discover the fun and joy being outside brings!

*ec: Extended Camp option available. Camp can be extended to 4:30 for an additional $70.

Apprentice Farmers: Ages 10-12, June 21-25

During Apprentice Farmers Week, campers begin making connections between the farm, their own lives, and the surrounding world. Campers will grind chicken feed and be introduced to the process of raising a chicken. They will chop salsa and learn the importance of local food production.

Farm Adventures: Ages 5-12, June 28-July 2 or July 26-30 or August 2-6 or August 9-13

This family oriented week allows siblings, cousins, and friends to experience farm camp together. Campers will feed animals, play games, fashion crafts, cook, work in the garden, and hike. The farm is a space for all kinds of adventures, as small as feeling a pig's snout or as big as exploring the forest!

  • Farm Hands: Ages 13-15, June 28-July 2

Much can be learned from hard work. And if you have campers in your family who have grown out of Apprentice Farmers Week or who've never been to Gorman Farm Camp, this teen camp is a perfect week to really get their boots dirty and learn what it takes to run a family farm.

Vet Camp: Ages 13-15, July 26-30

On a daily basis there is not too much you can do with animals besides feed them, clean up after them, and perhaps handle them to make them friendlier. But periodically animals need special care. Come learn about more in-depth animal care - the specialty farming tasks that keep our animals alive and healthy!

    Themed Camps Ages 7-12

Wilderness Camp: Ages 7-9 during July 12-16 or Ages 10-12 during August 2-6

Learn skills that will last a lifetime. Campers will learn how to guide themselves with a map and compass, build a fire without matches, and forage for native, edible plants. Simple first aid will also be taught as campers learn what it takes to be safe in the great outdoors.

Art Camp: Ages 7-9 during June 21-25 or Ages 10-12 during August 9-13

The creative juices on the farm will be overflowing this week of camp. Using natural materials like dye plants and wool, campers will be inspired by the line compositions of a goat, colors of flowers and vegetables, and shadows on leaves in the background. Whether art is written, sculpted, or painted, a bountiful imagination will run wild on the farm!

Farm Chef Camp: Ages 8-12, July 19-23

A farm's first purpose is to produce food. Farm Chef Camp is a week long dedication to the food we raise and grow at Gorman. Campers will experience the wonders of turning a plump, vine-ripe tomato into a zesty salsa and the mystery of turning grass and grain into chicken meat. Campers will get close to their food. They'll prune and groom and mix and braise a summer feast

Science Camp: Ages 8-12, July 6-9 (4 day camp)

From identifying individual species of plants and understanding the life cycles of insects and farm animals to grasping the broader connection campers have to their ecosystem and the chemistry of frying an egg, there is much to learn on a working farm. This week, campers will tear down the walls of the laboratory and turn their environment into a science classroom.

Sprouts: Ages 4-5, July 6-9 from 9am-11:30am. Parent/guardian must accompany child.

When children begin to discover the world, they feel the sun on their faces, smell the soil, touch slimy worms, taste mint leaves, listen to birds, and name the colors in the garden bed.

There are few places better than a farm to facilitate learning. On these mornings, come experience the wonder of feeling a warm egg and smelling hay as you feed the horses with your four or five year old child.
