DescriptionSince 1925, Camp Westminster has provided a setting for summer camps, retreats, mission trips and outdoor summer worship in northern Michigan on beautiful Higgins Lake. The camp occupies forty wooded, lakefront acres 200 miles north of Detroit, and an outpost site on the Au Sable River. It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of state forest. The camp's forty-plus buildings, recreational facilities, and outdoor chapel are situated on Higgins Lake, known for its crystal clear spring-fed water and soft sandy bottom. At Camp Westminster, trained counselors provide safety nets for campers to take healthy risks through fun, challenging and adventurous activities. From tackling the Lighthouse Climb to sailing to Treasure Island to splashing in crystal-clear Higgins Lake, we provide challenges which will help any camper stretch4color-white-bkgdm.gif and grow in a safe Christian community. Children and youth are less at risk when they have a sense of community. There are also opportunities for campers to connect with the outdoors. At Camp Westminster, we believe each person is a steward of the environment. We try to build intimate relationships with the natural world on land and in the water, and we see this as an antidote to nature-deficit disorder. Guess what? It has been this way, on this site for 85 consecutive years. We offer a solid program with a rich history of diversity, openness to change and adaptation and the greatest memories a camper could have. Details
