There was a lot to learn in one short Saturday morning and yet all of the attendees did extremely well. In the individual competition Joshua Batchelor was the Match Winner with a score of 239. Jered Hoffmann took first place behind Batchelor with a 236. Christina Morrissey from took the 2nd place medal with a 234 while James Curry took the 3rd place bronze medal with a score of 216.

In the team competition, match winner medals went to Hoffmann and Slack who both bested their day before scores and finished with a combined team score of 462. Team members Curry and Gray also beat their previous individual scores and took first place with a combined score of 445. Second place went to Morrissey and Golay who fired a combined score of 415. Third place went to Batchelor and Marsh with a score of 394. Fourth place went to the Krenzel with a 370.

Special awards were given to Mr and Mrs Bruce for sending kids to this camp for the past 18 years.

No matter who got what medal, the one thing that should stand out is that most scores improved from the day before. They came to learn and to have a good time and that is exactly what happened.

Young shooters receive both beginning and intermediate training in rifle shooting. The participants are offered basic shooting, fundamentals of sportsmanship within the shooting fraternity and individual training. They will learn ways to improve individual competitive shooting ability and a positive attitude toward good shooting habits.

Camp activities include classes, coaching on the range, practice, sanctioned matches, recreational activities and lots of fun.

Camp Mary Dell is set in a beautiful wooded park south of Abilene. The campers stay in supervised cabins. There is a modern cafeteria and all meals will be prepared for the campers. The camp opens Friday evening October 2 at 5:00pm. If you plan to arrive later than 9:00pm please call to make special arrangements.
