The vision for Camp GuilRock started over 35 years ago when United Methodists from Guilford and Rockingham counties wanted to develop a Christian outdoor education and spiritual growth camp. Over the years, GuilRock has become a place where people come to experience God in a natural and relaxing environment. Our mission statement is: "Discover Creation, Experience God, Grow in Faith".

Our board of directors oversees the camp and is made up of laity and clergy from the Greensboro and Northeast districts of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. Currently, the executive director of Camp GuilRock is Mark Christy. Mark is a consecrated diaconal minister in the United Methodist Church, and has been involved in youth ministry on a professional level for over 25 years.

Maintaining and caring for this 232 acre camp requires large amounts of energy and time. Therefore, we need your help! Our short term goals for 2005-2006 involve building 1 or 2 spiritual retreat cabins, designing a prayer labyrinth, and developing new summer programs for summer 2006 (ie.; district day camp, wilderness camp, fishing camp.)
