Camp Paha, located in Jefferson County, is a day camp for children ages 6-17 and young adults ages 18-25 with disabilities. Camp Paha offers safe, quality, fun and challenging activities. Camp provides campers an opportunity to participate in swimming, sports, games, nature, music, drama, hiking, arts and crafts, and field trips into the community.
Camp Paha is licensed by the state of Colorado as a school-age day care program and accredited by the American Camp Association.
Purpose and Goals
The purpose of Camp Paha is to provide recreational, educational and therapeutic opportunities in a safe and fun outdoor/indoor day camp environment.
Our goals are to:
- Provide opportunity for fellowship and fun with our campers.
- Provide an opportunity for developing awareness about self, others and the environment.
- Give emphasis to citizenship and being a member of a group through the day camp experience.
Friends of Paha
Camp Paha is supported by the Friends of Paha, a non-profit organization dedicated to the mission and goals of Camp Paha and the indiviuals it serves.
At Camp Paha, our staff are energetic, fun, creative, caring, patient and responsible young people who are excited about providing a safe, fun and quality day camp experience for campers.
Camp Paha Staff range from students in college majoring in or having interest in special education, therapeutic recreation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, or pre-med, to teachers at local schools and young adults still in high school. Staff work in a close-knit, intense team environment and are supported by Administrative Staff, including the Camp Director and the Camp Executive Director.

- Assistant Camp Director - Older Groups
- Assistant Camp Director for Volunteers and Programming Support
- Activity Specialist - Nature and Outdoor Recreation, Sports and Games, Music and Drama, Arts and Crafts, and Aquatics/Water Play
- Head Counselors
- Counselors (16 years and over)
- Counselors in Training (14 and 15 years old)
- Student Nurse Assistant (practicum experience)

Meals
Due to the location and nature of a day camp, campers/staff are required to bring their lunch daily to camp. Cold drinks and an afternoon snack are provided by the camp. No lunches are available for purchase.
Transportation
Transportation arrangements to and from camp must be made by the parent, caregiver or guardian. Jefferson County Schools can make arrangements for summer school students to receive transportation to Camp Paha. Please call your school for more information about this transportation.
